CHEMICAL SPILL: Ankeny Road Closed For Cleanup | News
A nontoxic chemical spill in Ankeny is forcing some commuters to find a different route.
A press release from the City of Ankeny says a portion of Southeast Delaware is closed where it intersects Magazine Road.
Crews are working to clean up a nontoxic chemical spill. They’re trying to make sure the chemicals don’t enter the stormwater system.
The roadway is expected to be open again around 7:00 p.m. Until then, a detour is in place, Southbound traffic is being diverted to SE 9th Street and northbound traffic is being diverted to SE Kensington.
The city is urging residents to avoid the area of the spill.
