The Ankeny Fire Department held its annual toy drive for U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots on Sunday, December 11. Metro residents filled two vehicles – a fire engine and an ambulance – with toys, games, and three new bicycles.
The toys will now be sorted into groups and Marine Corps will try to fulfill each wish list.
“Because of the generosity of those in our community, over 900 kids will have a new toy under the tree this holiday season,” said Firefighter and retired Marine Mark Amann.
